OUG is home to the first Steven's Corner mamak restaurant (formerly known as Sri Komalah Restaurant). This restaurant has been causing the traffic in the area from bad to worst. Apparently this restaurant was involved in corruption case which implicated the former Ampang City Council Mayor.
Every night beginning from 7pm onwards, you will see the whole area coming to life and many people, particularly teenagers, can be seen hanging out at this iconic place. This mamak restaurant is perfect for those who are into football, English Premier League specifically, because there's a large projector TV stuck in the open-air area of the place broadcasting live EPL matches through the ESPN channel. Just down the hill lies Plaza OUG (also known formerly by the name of Plaza Kimisawa). It has undergone through a few ownerships and modifications, with the most recent one being Parkson Grand. One can climb the hill and have a grandiose view of the whole garden.
The residential roads here used to be in numbers (Jalan 1 to 40). However the local authorities decided to rename them to Hujan Emas (golden rain), Hujan Abu, Hujan Batu, Hujan Gerimis, Hujan Manik, Hujan Bubuk and so on. On Thursday and Saturday nights, there will be a huge night market selling various food stuff and of every imaginable item.
