Tamaha is a town in Haskell County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 198 at the 2000 census.

Tamaha is located at 35°23′38″N, 94°59′18″W (35.394003, -94.988218)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.4 square miles (16.7 km²), of which, 6.4 square miles (16.6 km²) of it is land and 0.16% is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 198 people, 73 households, and 54 families residing in the town. The population density was 30.8 people per square mile (11.9/km²). There were 109 housing units at an average density of 17.0/sq mi (6.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 84.34% White, 8.59% Native American, and 7.07% from two or more races.

There were 73 households out of which 23.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.4% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% were non-families. 20.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.16.

In the town the population was spread out with 24.7% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24, 21.2% from 25 to 44, 29.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 112.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $29,250, and the median income for a family was $35,938. Males had a median income of $27,500 versus $16,563 for females. The per capita income for the town was $11,628. About 4.3% of families and 8.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under the age of eighteen and 22.6% of those sixty five or over.
