Well, we finally have a Tamiami Trail/US 94 page with an expanded history section... or two... or three. This needs a few more pictures IMO, and I'd particularly like to have a picture of the orange US 41 sign (with or without an east/west indicator) that was used on the Trail between 1949 and 1994 (there might still be a a faded one or two along the route today as FDOT has been keeping them up as long as possible). I'll leave it to someone else (at least for the time being) to add the external links (some of my citations can also be posted there -- the Collier Historical Museum site has some fantastic pictures of Trail construction, for example). [edit] "Everglades Skyway"

Can someone look at the addition of this name and link? It looks to me like a neologism given to the Corps' plan, but I'd like a second opinion. --NE2 21:51, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm not sure if it's linkspam or not (I'll leave that for others to decide) - the name is being used to rally funding support for the proposed causeway by a number of organizations. I rewrote it to indicate the apparent origin of the name and separated it from the rest of that last paragraph for easy deletion if a Wikipedia veteran decides that it is linkspam after all. 66.217.46.182 03:14, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
