I am very envious of this image! I've been trying to produce images of text in various writing systems and languages. Could you give me the details of how this image was produced? Gareth Hughes 00:49, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Why does it have JPG artifacting? It's a PNG... Ashibaka talk 21:47, 26 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hi, verygood chart. However you still missing many phonemes that are in day to day use.

example, p = p, b, ph. example iruphathu. see you do not say irupathu. vipharam, aphaayam. Not this phoneme ph does not exist in Sanskrit or other \Devanagari.

example. R = R and T as in Tom. example aaRRam=aaTTam maaRRam, then you have aRam, aram, mRavan, maram Also R= TR as in nanTRy, inTRu, etc...

Sinilarly TS...

In Sanskrit nor Devanagari there are no R, no T sounds. only r exists.

nth and n and n and N are different phonemes.

Th, Th, Th, nth there are 4 different th in tamil. Only two or may be three in Sanskrit. example, athan=ath1an, aththaan-ath0th0aan, antha, anthth3a

For more details visit my pages at http://www.geocities.com/avarangal or www.araichchi.com

Also in Tamil vowels represent a group of phonemes.

example ammaa=ummaa as in ambrella annai=annai as in apple

intru intha

ethu eppoo

etc...

could you include these vast differences too. Again sanskrit only has one phoneme for each vowel.

In sanskrit you can not write america, you have to write Umerica etc....

Let me know once you edited the pages. Let me know if you need any help.
