Talysh Mountains (Persian: کوههای تالش Kuha: e Ta:lesh) is a mountain chain in northwestern Iran, in the northwest section of the Elburz Mountains, extending southeastward from the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan to the lower part of the Sefid Rud (White River). Few peaks rise above 10,000 ft (3,000 m) and the humid subtropical coastal lowlands along the Caspian Sea lie at the eastern base of the mountains.[1]
