Talya

Talya is a small village in Holalkere taluk near Chitradurga district, Karnataka State, India.

One of the famous and the main attraction here is an old temple of Lord Hanuman. History says that this is a very old temple and the specialty of this temple is that the entire story of Ramayana is carved near the tail portion of the Lord Hanuman's idol here.

Lunch homes and marriage halls have been built here to conduct any religious programs.

Every year the annual 'Mullavi' (Walk on thorns) and 'Theru' (Procession of God on a wooden chariot) takes place here in the month of April. Devotees from neighbouring villages and districts gather here to witness this fabulous event.

The people here make their living mainly on agriculture.


Getting here: To get to this place, one has to come to the main Bus Stand in Chitradurga district. From here, they can either take an auto or a minicab to come to Talya.
