Talitsa (Russian: Талица) is a town and administrative center of Talitsky District of Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Pyshma River (Ob's basin), near the YekaterinburgTyumen segment of Trans-Siberian Railway, 219 kilometers (136 mi) east of Yekaterinburg. Population: 18,800 (2005 est.);[citation needed] 18,860 (2002 Census);[1] 19,888 (1989 Census).[2]

It was founded in 1732. The rail station was opened in 1885. Town status since 1942.

The town is known for its pharmaceutical industry.
