Tales from the Lotus Pod is the debut album by Psychopathic Records supergroup Dark Lotus, released in 2001. Prior to its release it was rumored to contain actual ritualistic black magic verses, possibly hidden thru backwards masking. The track "cigaM Kcalb" is obviously 'Black Magic" spelled backwards. A second version of this album would be created with Anybody Killa, dubbed over the top of Marz. The CD features details of how to perform a Seance in the back insert. There is also no track listing at any location on either versions of this album.

[edit] Reissue
Tales from the Lotus Pod Revisited[citation needed] or Tales from the Lotus Pod Revised,[citation needed] as it is sometimes called, was released at the 2002 Gathering of the Juggalos on Psychopathic Records. After the dispute between Marz and the rest of the Dark Lotus members, a second Tales from the Lotus Pod was created with Anybody Killa in place of Marz. The album is considered by some to be not as good with "ABK" instead of Marz.[citation needed] Today there is still a split within the juggalo community as to which version is better.[citation needed] Also Violent J says that he no longer listens to the original version and at most shows the ABK version is played in the background.[citation needed] The CD features details of how to perform a Seance in the back insert, as does the original.

Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines. The article could be improved by integrating relevant items and removing inappropriate ones. |
- The actual album has no track list. The original contains a red colored cross with the words Dark Lotus and nothing on the back. The re-release featured a gold cross.
- The beat and chorus to "Something" were also used for a Violent J solo song called "It" which can be found on Forgotten Freshness Vol. 3.
- In "I Wanna' Die", Shaggy 2 Dope has a verse which references the classic book "Heart of Darkness", when he says, "like Kurtz, place me high upon your pedestal".
- The beat to "Dot Com" was also used for a Violent J solo song called "Superstar" which can be found on both Forgotten Freshness Vol. 3 and The Pendulum.
- On "cigaM kcalB" You can hear Violent J say:May god bless Mike E. Clark,ICP,Twiztid and most of all, all Juggalos and everybody at Psychopathic Records and even you. The 6th Jokers card will be followed by the end of time itself, it will consume us all. WitchCraft, Magicians, Sorcerors, Witch Doctors, Black Magic!
- On Juggalo Family Murder is said not only forwards but backwards.
