Taleex

Taleex or Taleh (Somali: Taleex) is a small town and administrative center of the district of the same name, located in northeast Somalia. Part of the Sool Region, the town is under the control of the state of Puntland.
Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, an anti-colonial Somali warrior, moved his capital there from Illig on the coast in 1909. Some 10 years later, he was defeated in battle by the British. Taleex was subjected to aerial bombardment and he was forced him to abandon his palace and retreat into the Ogaden.[1]
