Talagang, the headquarters of Talagang Tehsil, is a town located in Chakwal District, Punjab, Pakistan.[1] It is located at 32°55'0N 72°25'0E[2] and lies about 30 kilometres from the M2 motorway and about 45 kilometres from the district capital - Chakwal.

Talagang town is the administrative centre of Talagang Tehsil, one of the three tehsils (administrative subdivisions) of Chakwal District. The tehsil is divided into 23 Union Councils, two of which form the town of Talagang[1].

Talagang has a well developed education level, the oldest school of the tehsil is Govt. High School No. 1, Talagang which has an enrolment of more than 1600 students. Almost all villages have schools at primary level. There are two government colleges, four Higher Secondary Schools, Fauji Foundation Model school & collage,MAKKAH education system,VIP Educational system,Talagang Institude of Computer Science and private collages.

Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Talagang has two campuses; located in centre of the city and other in well known biggest colony of Talagang known as Banglow Noor Shah. There are several other hospitals at different locations within tehsil. And construction of Pervaiz Hospital is going on which will be one of the model hospital for all Tehsils of Pakistan

Talagang city has developed markets comprising of over 6000 shops.It main markets are Mansoor market,Qazi market,Landa bazar,New Market,Niazi market,Bismillah Market,etc.Its markets are more developed as compared to chakwal which is district of Talagang. Talagang is one and only Tehsil of Pakistan who is biggest revenue generator.
