[edit] Death

Can someone of authority please protect this article! There are conflicting stories on whether Taku passed away on October, 17th, 2007 or not. I have searched the internet and have not discovered any source claiming Taku's death. I think it would be best to protect Taku's page until this is sorted out! Thanks! 72.188.68.52 00:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

I've found a source - NBC affiliate WOAI Texas here: Sea World Killer Whale Dies. Kiwipat 01:08, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I have observed the source you keep referring to. However, there is no other source to backup your claims - not even a web search! I am not suggesting Taku's death is a false claim, but this is Wikipedia. There must be reliable sources to back up any statement, especially with something controversal. Therefore, I believe it would be better to wait a couple of days, until something has been officially confirmed through SeaWorld or at least another source has been added. How is the death of a whale controversal? And honestly, how many sources do you really need before you're allowed to make an article accurate? TheJudge310 16:47, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Probably because Taku was believed to have sired a calf with his mother, Katina. However, SeaWorld has never released an official statement regarding the parentage of Nalani. 70.145.200.80 (talk) 04:13, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Before protecting it, someone should edit it so it doesn't read like a children's book. PenguinJockey 04:18, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
