Talk:Takt time
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The current manner in which Takt Time is calculated does not take into account the operational availability of the process. Although the calculation that is presented here is the correct "universally used" formula, I think that Takt Time should be calculated thus:
Takt Time =(standard work time*Process operational availability (Ao))/Customer demand
With "Standard Work Time" being the production with with all of the breaks and cleaning and such taken out. Process Operation Availability being the probability of the systems being operational (Operational Availability (Ao) = MTBM/MTBM+MDT
MTBM = Mean Time Between Maintenance MDT = Mean Down Time
