Take the Willing is a metal/hardcore band hailing from Tauranga, New Zealand. The band formed in 2006 and consists of Nathan Sowter (lead vocals), Kurt Andersen (guitar and backing vocals), Kaya Rayner (guitar), David Lennon (bass), and Jayden Faass (drums).

Their heavy trademark sound has been welcomed by audiences throughout New Zealand. This sound and their killer live show has enabled the band to set off on a successful nationwide tour with popular New Zealand band Blindspott, and more recently on a summer tour with Blindspott, The Bleeders and Full Nelson.

In addition to playing to hundreds of metal fans up and down the country, Take the Willing played at Killerfest 2007 alongside 21 other metal, punk and hardcore bands including Australian hardcore acts Parkway Drive and The Valley. In up and coming weeks the band will play alongside leading American hardcore act Hatebreed.

The first single ‘Eye's Closed’ off the up and coming album has already received airplay on New Zealand radio stations The Rock and Kiwi FM.

In April 2007 lead singer Nathan Sowter heads over to Sweden to record their debut album with internationally acclaimed producers Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstrom, who have produced artists such as Refused, Poison the Well, Cult of Luna and Blindspott.

Take the Willing’s debut album is entitled ‘Fight Music’ and was released July the 2nd 2007.

2007 is set to be a busy year for Take the Willing with a new album, new video and a nationwide tour all in the pipeline.
