Takatori Catholic Church
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Takatori Catholic Church is a church building in Kobe, Japan using paper tubes as structural elements. It was designed by Shigeru Ban, internationally known Japanese architect who is famous for his paper tube structures and buildings.
The temporary church building was erected in 1995 after the Great Hanshin earthquake.
The church can not be visited any more on the spot, because it has been donated (deconstructed and moved) to Taiwan in mid 2005. It used to lie a fifteen minute walk from Takatori Station in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.
