Taka Sukunami (宿南 魏 Sukunami Taka?) is a character is the anime and manga series Fushigi Yūgi. He is the real world reincarnate of Suzaku Seishi Tamahome, though his life was brought into existance with him remaining the same age he was in the Shi Jin Ten Chi Sho.
[edit] Sypnosis
Miaka met him at a café (Café Paradox) roughly a month after concluding the summoning of Suzaku. Being a real-world Tamahome, he's very protective of her and loves her deeply, always coming to her rescue when she needs him.
Taka's memories of being Tamahome are very scarce as he would have to forget in order to be made a person of the real world. Suzaku later reappears to inform Miaka of a demon god's plot to destroy the world within the book and being the priestess, Miaka feels the need to protect her seishi and the country that came to be a second home to her. Recovering Taka's memories is part of the solution to stopping the demon, later named as Tenkō.
Tenkō then manipulated Suzaku's story, convincing Taka that he is only a shadow of Tamahome and therefore will disappear if he can't claim Tamahome's memories as his own. The memories, in the form of different colored jewel spheres, are actually just memories and nothing more. Taka is not a shadow, he is his own man with nothing fictional about him. [1]
