Taitei no Ken (大帝の剣? "The Emperor's Sword") (aka: The Sword of Alexander) is a series of novels by Baku Yumemakura. They blend samurai action with sci-fi elements. The first novel was adapted into a 2007 movie directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi.

[edit] Synopsis
Orichalcum is a rare and powerful material from the stars came to earth and was forged into three priceless artifacts in (fictional) history. Those that can unite the three items is said to attain great power within the universe. It's such a desired power that two conflicting alien forces fought their way in space and crash landed in ancient Japan for Orichalcum. Yorozu Genkurou, a samurai that managed to acquire the sword called "Taitei no Ken (The Sword of Alexander)" will soon realize the true potential of the sword he has as he battles between ninjas and aliens that covets his life and sword.
