Taiston Tie - The Battle Path was the first release by the Finnish power metal band Turisas under their former band name Köyliö. It was recorded live through a Roland 8-track mixer at their rehearsal room. It was eventually copied over to cassettes and handed out to friends and family of the band. Turisas had no bass player at the time of this recording, so there is no bass part at all on this recording.
Taiston Tie uses the same theme as their later written song Rex Regi Rebellis, namely the The Thirty Years War. It was the first realization of that idea, even though the two songs are completely different musically.
The original title for "Rae" was "Jää-kristalli-ihmemies-McGyver", which was changed right before the covers were printed because the band thought the name sounded silly.[1]
