Noris Díaz Pérez (also known as La Taína, born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico in 1976) is a Puerto Rican model and host. She has appeared in the local show No te Duermas since 1997. She has also appeared in promotions for beers and other products.
When Taína first appeared in television, her most prominent feature was her hips and buttocks.[citation needed] However, in 2002 she had breast implants to improve her figure.[citation needed] Her measurements are 36-23-39, and she's 5' 2" tall.
Taína has produced five calendars featuring pictures of her. All of her calendars have been instant sell-outs.[citation needed]
Taína has been linked romantically to basketball player Jerome Mincy, salsa singer Michael Stuart, and most recently reggaeton producer, Raphy Pina.[citation needed]
In January 18, 2006, Taína was hospitalized with severe headaches and later fell in critical condition for what was believed to be a brain tumor. [1] The diagnosis was later altered to encephalitis. She made a quick recovery [2] and returned to television shortly after.
In April 24, 2007 she announced her retirement from television to dedicate time to other things, and to fully recover from her condition. She has also become a born-again Christian and is currently hosting a radio show in a Christian station.
