Tahdhib al-Tahdhib (Asqalani)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tahdhib al-Tahdhib is a well known work by classical Islamic scholar Ibn Hajar Asqalani. It is the single most convenient biographical dictionary of hadith transmitters mentioned in the Six Books. It is an abridgement of al-Mizzi, Tahdhib al-Kamal, stressing lists of authorities and evaluations from famous rijal critics, usually omitting the discussion of individual hadith reports.
