Taft Avenue MRT Station is a station on the Manila MRT Blue Line (MRT-3), and is the only MRT station in Pasay City. Like all other MRT stations, Taft Avenue is station is above-ground, although it is the only station that is at grade, lying directly on flat ground. The station is located at the corner of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, or EDSA, one of Metro Manila's main thouroughfares, and Taft Avenue (sometimes called EDSA Rotonda). The station is named after Taft Avenue, which is named after former U.S. President and US Chief Justice William Howard Taft, in which he became governor of the Philippine Territory in 1903. He became US President from 1909 to 1913 and US Chief Justice from 1920s to 1930.
The station is the southern terminus of the MRT, and as such is the first and last station for trains headed to and from North Avenue in Quezon City. Its convenient location has helped create many businesses in the area, from the number of hotels and motels to restaurants and shops, with a good majority of them being a short walk from the station. It is near Metropoint Mall and Saver's Square, both of which are popular with commuters; and the Winston Lodge and a branch of Sogo Hotel, two of the many motels found along EDSA. It is also the stop for SM Mall of Asia, Heritage Hotel, and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Manila International Airport).

Taft Avenue MRT Station is served by an abundance of buses, jeepneys, and taxis on both EDSA and Taft Avenue routes, with stops near the station. Many provincial bus lines, such as Victory Liner (serving Northern Luzon) and Philtranco (serving Southern Luzon and the rest of the Philippines), have bus terminals near the station. Buses and jeepneys from this station ply for various points in Metro Manila (Pasay City, Muntinlupa City (Alabang), Paranaque City (Sucat and Kabihasnan), SM Mall of Asia, Las Pinas City, City of Manila, Caloocan City, and Makati City) and the southern provinces of Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna.
The station is also the transfer point for commuters riding the Manila Light Rail Transit System's Yellow Line, or LRT-1, being connected by a walkway embracing the Metropoint Mall.
