Taego Order

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Taego Order or Taegojong (태고종) is a small order within Korean Buddhism with headquarters at Bongwonsa. What sets Taego apart from some of the other Korean sects like Chogye, among other factors, is the ability for ordained clergy to marry. This custom is a remnant of the Japanese occupation of Korea. [1][2] See the Taego order's English language website (below) for information on centers in the U.S. and other countries.
