[edit] Ridings
Does your recent edit to "Sierra de Cádiz" mean that you are denying that Yorkshire is in the UK? (Because a concept isn't generally applied doesn't mean that it is false in its specific application.)
I assume you are American. There are four of your fifty "states" that are technically "commonwealths", so, if I were to say that 'X' was similar to a commonwealth in the US, would my statement be wrong because only four states (and not all fifty) are called commonwealths?
Please find a better example of a sub-provincial, semi-official, political subdivision than "riding". Otherwise, please go back and restore what you destroyed. Thank you. PeterHuntington 17:04, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm British and this was a four word edit to a stub which had several other examples of corresponding geographical subdivisions. I made the judgement that the explanation was stronger without a Yorkshire specific concept that has no meaning outside a single county in England. If you disagree feel free to revert - I really couldn't care. Considering how personally you apparently take edits to your pages I'll try to avoid them in the future.
