Tadeusz Baird

Tadeusz Baird (b. July 26, 1928 in Grodzisk Mazowiecki - d. September 2, 1981 in Warsaw, Poland) was a Polish composer. He studied in Warsaw camposition (among others with Kazimierz Sikorski), piano and musicology. In 1956, with Kazimierz Serocki he founded the Warsaw Autumn international contemporary music festival. In 1974 he began to teach composition at the State College of Music (currently the Music Academy) in Warsaw.

Baird's music is usually lyrical, very expressive, and intensely subjective. It is often rooted in the Romantic, or rather post-romantic tradition, despite serial techniques.
