From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tadepalli is a town in the Gunturu district of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The origin of the name is believed to be related to the palm 'Tathi' tree and 'palle' meaning village. A Tadepalli P O-522 501 is located at South Side of Krishna River,(North side of river Vijayawada city located)in Gunturu Disrtct. Tadepalli is the Mandal head quarters.

Tadepalli also refers to a smartha vaidiki velanadu telugu brahmin family which extends back in time to the 15th century (perhaps earlier), believed to have originated in Tadepalli agraharam, with thousands of members in hundreds of branches of this family scattered all over India and abroad. No comprehensive genealogy or records tracing back the origins and major migrations of this clan exists at present, although it is known that this clan is scattered throughout the United States and various Indian urban centres such as Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Nagpur. Unmentionable sources report that there is also a black Labrador named Peppy owned by this clan. Any migrations of this clan will be reported with utmost care, for security's sake.
