[edit] At the beginning

I originally created this article (see the version of October 13, 2007). Please keep it updated and free of errors. Mikael Häggström 14:44, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

To the author: this article is very long, and most people viewing this site probably only need some of these tables. The problem is that when I go to copy and paste the individual parts I need onto a word document so that I can print individual sections, the format becomes messed up. the page becomes all reformed and I can't seem to fix it. I have also had trouble with this on other wiki/wikipedia documents and I think that many other viewers also have this same problem. it would be a great help if you could fix this problem by perhaps sending me directions on how to put the document back to its normal format on other documents such as Microsoft Word. it would also fix this problem even better if you could insert a [hide]/[show] box similar to the one on the contents bar next to each section where it says [edit] so that the document could be decreased in length for individual viewers (the same way the contents bar decreases length). i would really appreciate it if you could respond:) P.S.: Maybe this would help to make the document not seem so long so you could get more viewers:) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.87.3 (talk) 21:46, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Incompleteness of the list

To the author: Can you please explain why only 320 of the stated c. 640 total muscles are listed? What has been omitted? Are the rest to come later?

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.87.179.134 (talk) 02:56, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Actually that number of 640 muscles in total was something that was stated in Wikipedia already before I started this article, and I'm not sure whether it is true or not. If there are aditionally 320 muscles, then I'm pretty sure, however, that they are very unsignificant, and only of interest to anatomists. Mikael Häggström 08:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

The page states that there are 640 muscles in the typical human body, while the tables contain 320 muscles. The human body has two of each muscle listed, therefore the 320 listed muscles will constitute 640 muscles in the body. As far as the actual number of muscles, I think there will always be speculation as a result of how a muscle can be split into two heads (biceps brachii) or each head can be considered a muscle in its own right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.227.152.122 (talk) 18:58, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
