Talk:Table hockey
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
At least in Sweden, there exists a variant of Table Football, that is more similar to Table Hockey: http://www.stigagames.com/Product_guide2.asp?Guide_id=4&Country_id=1&Group_id=3 (I believe Stiga's version is the most famous and popular example.)
The biggest market for Stiga's Table Football game is actually Norway. --Boivie 10:55, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Do not remove relevant links please + Cat name change
Please do not remove my Stiga related links from this article. Any valid Stiga links should remain. Thank You
Also Table Hockey should not be focused on only Stiga. There has been appox 500 different games made so Stiga should have a category named Stiga Table Hockey as it is not the sport of table hockey, it is one game in the sport of table hockey. The Table Hockey Games Cat should be named Table Hockey as it reflects the big picture of the game and sport. This should be changed as to not misrepresent a sport that started long before 1982 on other models then Stiga.
- Wikipedia is not a repository of links. Links that are added to promote a site should normally be avoided.
- In North America, the term "Table hockey" is used for all kinds of miniature ice hockey games. In other parts of the world, the term "Table hockey" is only used for organized tournaments played on Stiga table hockey games, with the ITHF playing rules. --Boivie 00:33, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- In North America, probably the old Coleco games are still best known, and are considered superior to Stiga by many. It's probably true that the article shouldn't focus on Stiga, for the reason that it is primarily a European game, and is not that popular elsewhere. Biff Loman 02:16, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Stiga table hockey
"In North America called Stiga table hockey" should be removed, as this is not true. People just say table hockey, no matter what company made the game.
