[edit] Picture

I believe there is a picture of the Tabinshwehti Nat in the following book:

Temple, R.C. (1906). The Thirty-seven Nats-A Phase of Spirit-Worship prevailing in Burma. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Tabinshwehti&action=edit I will scan the photo and add it. Also check on copyright. [Jonfernquest]

[edit] Weasel word "supposedly"

I realize I am probably guilty of using a weasel word when I cite historical facts from Fernão Mendes Pinto with the qualifier "supposedly" , but Pinto has a lot of fanciful material in it that subtracts from its value as a historical source.

I will have to find some way of indicating the contested nature of historical facts without sounding like a weasel. [[[User:Jonfernquest|Jonfernquest]] 09:16, 17 July 2006 (UTC)]

[edit] Best sources for Wikipedia early Burmese history articles

Everything on this page can be supported by a published source according to Wikipedia's policy of no original research, so I will eliminate the reference to Shorto's unpublished Pak Lat translation manuscript here. [[[User:Jonfernquest|Jonfernquest]] 09:39, 17 July 2006 (UTC)]

I believe the Shorto translation is alright, because the source of he translation was published, albeit in 1912, in the Mon alphabet, in a run of only 1000 copies, and I have never met anyone who has even seen a copy of this book, but Shorto had one.
