Tabor College is a four-year Christian liberal arts institution in Hillsboro, Kansas, United States. It was founded in 1908 by members of the Mennonite Brethren and Krimmer Mennonite Brethren Christian churches. Tabor is currently owned and operated by the Mennonite Brethren Church and follows the confession of faith of that church.

There were 468 students enrolled at the Tabor College Hillsboro campus for the Fall 2007 semester. Total headcount, including Tabor College School of Adult and Graduate Studies in Wichita, Kan. was 599.

*ADULT AND GRADUATE STUDIES (AGS)

Over 100 students are enrolled in the School of Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS)degree completion program, which offers three undergraduate programs: Registered Nurse to Bachelor's of Science in Nursing; Christian Ministry; and Business Administration. Students can enroll in core curriculum courses through the college's STEPS (Studies That Enhance Program Success) program. AGS also offers an MBA with a concentration in Accounting. The average length of time for a School of Adult and Graduate Studies degree completion program is 18 to 29 months.


Study Abroad Options

The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) is a cooperative organization of Christ-centered, four-year colleges and universities rooted in the liberal arts and offering professional programs. Through Tabor’s affiliation with the CCCU, Tabor students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs.

Interterm

Tabor provides for an Interterm during the month of January. Students earn up to four credit hours through on-campus or independent study, including study abroad. Courses during Interterm give students an opportunity for uninterrupted and intensive study of a particular subject. Over the course of four years, this can amount to 12 or more hours of class credit, with no additional tuition costs. A number of Interterm travel experiences are offered, including history in Europe, intercultural communication in Asia, missions in the inner city, and biblical studies in Jerusalem.

Missions & Service

Tabor students are provided with several service opportunities in keeping with the faith-based mission of the college. During new student orientation, students participate in a service day, working alongside others in Hillsboro and other sites in Newton and Wichita. Groups work with women’s shelters, clothing banks, low-income housing projects, and other organizations.

Athletics

  • Tabor is a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) which is part of the NAIA. Other KCAC member schools are Bethany College, Bethel College, Friends University, Kansas Wesleyan University, McPherson College, Ottawa University, Southwestern College, Sterling College, and University of Saint Mary.

Hillsboro

Tabor's main campus is situated in Hillsboro, Kansas, a town of approximately 3500 residents, located approximately 45 miles north of Wichita. Nearby cities include Newton, McPherson, Salina, and Emporia.
