Teresa Victoria Carpio, more commonly known as T. V. Carpio, is a Chinese/Filipina-American singer, songwriter and actress. She was born in Oklahoma City in 1981. She is the daughter of Asian singing star Teresa Carpio, with whom she has performed on stage as a backup singer. Her mother has also recorded one of her compositions. For the movie Across the Universe, she recorded a cover of "I Want to Hold Your Hand", a popular song performed by The Beatles. Across the Universe got a nomination in the 80th Annual Academy Awards for Best Costume Design.
Carpio played Prudence in the 2007 musical film Across the Universe. She has also appeared on television, including a TV movie and episodes of The Jury and Law & Order. She made her Broadway debut in Rent as Alexi Darling and others, appearing from December 2006 until April 2007.
