[edit] Note on listing comics categories for deletion
In the future, when listing a comics-related category, template, or article for deletion, please list it at WP:CMC/NB. This allows the community to come to a better concensus and feel like part of the process, and we have examples for you to just cut and paste and add the appropriate information to. I'd really appreciate it, and I am sure I'm not the only one. Thanks. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 19:47, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hyperion page
In my opinion, the change that I have made to the powers and abilities box are not un-necessary, they are perfectly valid. I believe that there needs to be shown a slight difference between the listing of Superman's powers and those of Hyperions. Including the "flash vision" and "regeneration " abilities is correct. Please do not change my edits simply because you disagree with them. We all should be able to discuss these items and then arrive at an agreement. Thank you. --CrystalB4 11:41, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hyperion's abilities
You need to check further down on the Hyperion page where it lists his powers and abilities. It specifically mentions his "flash" or "atomic" vision and his regeneration abilities seperately. These abilities are and need to be different from Supermans since we don't want Hyperion to appear as if he's a carbon copy of Superman. I also will continue to revert your edits on these two points.--CrystalB4 04:07, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hyperion's abilities
I am still disagreeing with you on this point. It is important to highlight the difference between Hyperion's abilities and Superman's. Hyperion has "flash" or "Atomic" vision, Superman has "Heat" vision. Hyperion has regenerative abilities that are mentioned in his powers and abilities section, Superman does not (I didn't see regeneration abilities specifically listed anywhere in Superman's powers and abilities section). It is not redundant to list these two abilities in the superhero box, it is simply stating that he possesses these two powers, along with the others.--CrystalB4 02:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hyperion's abilities
Once again, look down in the powers and abilities section on Hyperion's page. It clearly emphasizes that his "flash" vision is radioactive in nature, Superman's "heat" vision is not. Also, Superman is mentioned as having "accelerated" healing on that Healing Factor page, not a "regenerative" healing factor. I doubt that Superman's accelerated healing is the same as say, Wolverine's healing factor, or Hyperions.--CrystalB4 05:05, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hyperion's abilities
You are incorrect on several points. First, Hyperion's regenerative abilities are "similar" to the eternals of Earth-616, not from any "heritage" that you speak of. Once again, check the Hyperion page itself when you are quoting from it. If it listed in the powers and abilities section, that is what I am going on. If it is listed incorrectly there, then it should be removed or revised. Second, you mention that Superman regenerated from a skeleton in some issue of DKR after he was hit with a nuclear explosion. I do not think that this instance should be considered stricly canon since in all other DC comics titles that Superman has or has appeared in, he can and has survived nuclear explosions. Also, as I have stated before, if you look on the Superman page itself there is no mention of a specific "healing factor" as there is on the Hyperion page. My contention remains the same that we need to highlight a few of the differences in their abilities in this section so as not to present Hyperion as a carbon copy of Superman. Nuff said.--CrystalB4 10:46, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Response
Wolverine: Origins isn't a comic book that takes place outside of Marvel continuity. It's canon. Omega Red appears and the issue states that Omega Red is looking for the Carbonadium Synthesizer. The events of the Dark Knight Returns isn't part of DC continuity, it's an alternate universe/reality. That's the difference. Odin's Beard 01:17, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- The story starts out with Wolverine sitting in his underwear in a freezer on board a ship. The monologue is Wolverine talking about how the cut he recieved from the Marumasa Blade during his fight with Captain America isn't healing normally, normally for him. A flashback sequence appears involving Wolverine back during his Team X days. He's in a prison cell awaiting his next orders. A voice booms over an intercom inside the cell and orders him to ingest a small capsule sitting on a plate. Wolverine does so and immediately doubles over in pain, thinking he's been poisoned. A group of guards enter the cell, armed with machine guns, and opens fire. A doctor proclaims that Wolverine is dead and that the study of how Carbonadium effects Wolverine's mutant healing powers. After the flashback ends, Wolverine makes his way from the ship and during another monologue, states that Carbonadium is the key to stopping his son without having to hill him. He also states the Carbonadium has to be synthesized, it doesn't occur naturally. Wolverine winds up catching a ride to Queens, New York after threatening a trucker. Three days later, Wolverine winds up in Queens and goes into some type of shelter/hospital that's filled with depowered mutants, including the one that Wolverine is searching for. Christopher Nord, AKA Maverick. Maverick, in past issues of comic books, is the only one who knows where the Carbonadium Synthesizer is. Just as Wolverine is about to go over to him, he smells Jubilee's scent. He smells another scent as well and quickly tackles her to the ground before the wall behind them explodes revealing Omega Red and at least 4 mercenaries with high tech gear and weaponry. Omega Red addresses Maverick: "Maverick. You will now give me what is mine, yes?"
Originally, I didn't know about any instance where it was stated that Omega Red no longer needed to drain the lifeforce of others, I never changed it because I didn't know for certain if it was true or not. I might've missed an issue. I'll have to do a bit more research to find the actual issues, but I do remember reading that Maverick is the only one who knows where the synthesizer is. I remember one issue...I think it was X-Factor #127, in which Sabretooth and Omega Red fight inside a church. During their fight, Omega Red tells Sabretooth that a bargain had been made with a woman named Ivanova, whos mother Sabretooth killed decades earlier. If Sabretooth was brought to her, she would give Maverick to Omega Red in order to learn the location of the Carbonadium Synthesizer. Odin's Beard 01:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hyperion's Eternal Heritage
Actually, I think that you need to check the page more carefully. His Eternal heritage is mentioned in only one of the six versions of Hyperion (Hyperion I). This does not make it so for all versions nor is it strictly canon. My position remains unchanged on this matter.--CrystalB4 13:54, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hyperion's Eternal Heritage
T-1000, you need to thoroughly read the Hyperion page. The only version of Hyperion that mentions anything about his Eternal heritage is Hyperion I. Nor is there any mention of this on the Hyperion page at www.marvel.com. As for the changes to your edits on the Superman page, I have already explained. The regenerative abilities that you attribute to Superman in that DKR issue is not canon with the rest of the DC universe and should not be added to his powers and abilities section.--CrystalB4 03:34, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- CrystalB4, the Marvel page is by no means an exhaustive resource link towards a character's entire history. Within the Quaasar series there are several references towards Hyperion's Eternal heritage, and the second Hyperion is fundamentally based on the original's template. In addition, there are multiple references of Superman's regenerative abilities throughout his entire published history, the Infinite Crisis simply being the most substantive as it is recent. NetK 04:33, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Supermans abilities
I read the page, my opinion remains unchanged. The DKR is not mainstream DC universe and this particular instance with Wonder Woman is still not enough to go by. Thus, the regenerative abilities that you allude to should not be shown on the powers and abilities page of Superman.--CrystalB4 04:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Supermans abilities
Don't use the NPOV as an excuse to try to get me banned. Simply becase you don't agree with me does not mean you should try to have me banned. Be an adult here, I am not vandalizing this article or insulting you in any way. Just because you might reference a source does not make it absolutely right in all cases. My point of view can be just as accurate.--CrystalB4 04:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Regeneration
T-1000, I concur with your assessment of Superman's regenerative capabilities. In fact there are far more examples of this throughout his post-Crisis existence including when his power levels had dropped during different periods. However, you mention this as a result of his Kryptonian heritage. Wouldn't a more accurate assessment be that this ability is derived specifically from his solar power absorption capability. I question how regenerative his body would be under a red sun. NetK 04:25, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- True however it may be more accurate to state that the regenerative abilities are derived from how his Kryptonian physique processes yellow sun radiation. My sole contention is, under a red sun, there is no quantifiable evidence that he would regenerate above the normal human rate. NetK 04:29, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Omega Red
If Omega Red had carbonadium armor, then how did Psylocke manage to stab him through the chest and puncture his lung with a katana when, according to the article itself, its nearly impossible to do even with adamantium weapons. Also, in #7, after Wolverine breaks free from his restraints, he slashes Omega Red across the chest. If you look at Omega Red's chest, you can see where Wolverine's claws are slicing through the material as well as a healthy splattering of blood. I've got the issue in my hand right now and it's hard to argue with it. Odin's Beard 23:24, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't see any claw marks on Omega Red's face. I'm not making this up in order to start a debate, but I simply don't see what you're seeing. I can't explain why the artist didn't draw a puncture or slash wounds in Omega Red's armor, you'd have to ask him. All I know is, in the issue, his left lung is punctured. That couldn't happen unless the sword pierced his chest cavity. I can't explain the inconsistencies, but I also can't recall where it's actually printed that Omega Red's armor is carbonadium. I remember him stating that it was in the X-Men animated series, but that's a different continuity. Odin's Beard 00:59, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, that's the panel where Psylocke drives her katana through him. Also, if you look at the panel where Wolverine slahes him, after breaking free from his restraints, there's no evidence that Wolverine slashes him across the face. While it does show him slashing and a large splatter of blood, it doesn't clearly show where he was slashed, although certainly not on the face. Odin's Beard 01:18, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't have the issues involving his battle with Iron Man or Chamber, but you also haven't provided a source that clearly states that Omega Red possesses carbonadium armor. Look, let's not try to split hairs over this. The issue states that his left lung was punctured, meaning the sword had to penetrate his body. This in and of itself raises serious doubt as to whether Omega Red's armor is carbonadium. Odin's Beard 01:24, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
You have to also take into account what's written, not just what's shown in the drawings. If it states that his lung was punctured, then the fact that the sword sticking out his back is irrelevant. You have to look at the possibility that she simply didn't drive her sword completely through his body. Odin's Beard 01:29, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Why, just because you say so? What happened in X-Men #7 raises doubts about Omega Red having carbonadium armor. You also have yet to provide exactly where it states in any comic that Omega Red has carbonadium armor, or even a carbonadium laced bones for that matter. If there's a canonical source that states it, then that will put the issue to rest once and for all. Until then, I'm taking it out of the article. Odin's Beard 01:52, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
I fail to see how that simply overrules what happened in X-Men #7. But, I'll leave that alone for the moment. How much force Chamber generated is irrelevant, you're avoiding the issue. You've provided an instance where the material of Omega Red's costume has withstood a heavy assault, granted, but that still doesn't prove that the armor is composed of carbonadium. Iron Man's robotic armor can withstand high degrees of impact without being damaged, that doesn't mean that it's composed of carbonadium or adamantium. Until a canonical source is cited that explicitly states that his armor is carbonadium, it's still just speculation on your part. Odin's Beard 02:40, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Omega Red AoA.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:ULTEXT001 cov.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:ULTEXT001 cov.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Metallo5.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Metallo5.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:03, 6 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Greb 02:03, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Riottoy.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Riottoy.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 01:00, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Owlman.gif
Thank you for uploading Image:Owlman.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:27, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked
Since this is your second violation of the 3RR your block is now 48 hours. I also note that you did not use the talk page to seek consensus against the edit you reverted but the people you were revert warring with did. Please note that 3RR blocks for repeat offenders can and do increase in length for each violation. Please consider this carefully and decide whether you need to change your editing style. If you disagree with the block you can appeal it with {{unblock|yourreasonhere}}. Spartaz Humbug! 06:41, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- you could have started the discussion yourself. How can you say there was no consensus against the edits if there had been no discussion at the time you were doing the reverting? Spartaz Humbug! 17:14, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, the edits made by User:Singaga were already revert by several other editors. That's why I felt he needed to justify his edits first. T-1000 (talk) 18:30, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:04, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
