Tömörkény is a village in Csongrád county, in the Southern Great Plain region of southern Hungary.

It covers an area of 53.91 km² (21 sq mi) and has a population of 1981 people (2002).
History: the first settlement's was built by the sarmata's and the avars. There was some cemetery and iron working equipments founded. It first legal sign from the XI. century, named "Temerken". In the turkish times a small fortress defended the local peoples. The old village was a harbor to move trough the river Tisza. Nowadays, this is a typical agricultural village near to Csongrád town.
