Szöny or Szony is a town in the Central Europe nation of Hungary, it is located at 47°43'60N 18°10'0E and has an elevation of 115 metres.[1]

In the year 97 the Roman legion Legio I Adiutrix campaigned in the area.[2] The town was know as Brigetio to the Romans.[3] The town has one of the earliest records of conjoined twins - Helen and Judith.[4]

In June 1944, whilst under German occupation, the oil storage depot was attacked by the allies.[5]
