Syrstad Rock (mile (1.6 km) north of Koerner Bluff on the northwest slopes of Mount Bursey, in the Flood Range, Marie Byrd Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-65. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Erik Syrstad, ionospheric physicist at South Pole Station, 1970.
