Thank you for you message. The consensus at the AfD discussion was pretty clearly in favor of deletion. It's not really appropriate for me to reverse that consensus absent new information. The general notability guideline suggests that a topic is notable if it has been the subject of coverage by reliable sources. If you can dig up a couple of sources that discuss the competition, then I'd be happy to work with you to see if the article could be saved.--Kubigula (talk) 04:44, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think the newspaper article that was cited was a reasonable source. If you can find another good one, we may be in business. Since it has already been through AfD, it's too late to simply tag it as needing sources. New information is needed to justify recreation of the article.
- I recognize that there are many articles on Wikipedia that may not meet the notability or verification requirements, and they too are subject to deletion if challenged.--Kubigula (talk) 23:19, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
