[edit] "North American" :-/

Er, weren't both Syntax and Brillian based in the great nation of the United States of America? Were they based in Canada or Mexico? That should say "American company" (or "United States company"), "Canadian company", or "Mexican company" as the case may be, not "north american". Yet another example of wikipedia's communist/anti-American (as in the ONLY nation in the world which calls itself "America") bias... unless someone can show where another nation besides the United States of America has called itself "America" in an official government document and/or statement, I don't see any ambiguity with "American company" in this context. Has the Prime Minister of Canada ever said "my fellow Americans"? How about the President of Mexico? I think not. I mean, if a Frenchman says "those American companies need to stop thinking they are as good as Thompson", does anyone think "hmm, maybe he means Mexican companies"????? Seriously, people. --Brian 71.116.71.27 07:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Wow.. OK crazy. I'd listen to a little less talk radio if I were you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:76.170.52.113 (talk • contribs) 03:11, 6 March 2007.
Obviously you're part of the Great Canadian Television Manufacturer Conspirary, designed to take credit away from hard-working American companies. For shame. Fo0bar 18:17, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
And what's the deal with airline food? Seriously people! --71.83.124.169 10:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, Brian does have a pretty good point. I've been seeing a lot of this on Wikipedia lately. That's strange since this site is designed, hosted, and run in the United States.
Sadly due to recent idiocy, the image of the US isn't a proud one anywhere but in the US, and even that is tenuous at best. I can't blame euroland et al for hating us, Americans continue to live up to every stereotype put out there. But yeah, that's not exactly NPOV to try and deflect stating its an American company like that. Its also noteworthy that I believe everything about their products is Chinese, it wouldn't even surprise me if the leadership of this 'American' company are actually taiwanese/chinese. Anyhoo. Yeah. Do agree with the bit about the whole 'The United States created the telephones (he was a Scott I know, but an immigrant we funded!) you talk on, computers you type on, OS's you watch pr0n on, internet you surf on, so stop mis-judging us based on 8 years of bad leadership' thing. 214.13.141.100 10:47, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

foobar: lmao. person who wrote above paragraph: actually Syntax/Olevia just opened a big factory to made LCD and LCoS TVs in California, USA. TVs made there have an FTC compliant label "Assembled in USA". and to my knowledge they are a US founded and owned company. The factory in question is owned by a South Korean company I think, but that doesn't really matter. Made in the USA is Made in the USA regardless of who owns the factory as long as it is on US soil. Toyota makes a lot of cars in the USA, including at the NUMMI plant here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I consider them Made in the USA. I agree that the current President is bad leadership, but I am still a patriot, proud of the USA and proud to have had the privilege and honor to serve her on nuclear submarines.71.121.3.250 04:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Remote Control Codes Issues

Hey all...my apologies in advance if this is not encyclopedic at all, but I have noticed a plethora of website forums complaining that there is no universal remote code yet for the Olevia televisions. I have seen other Wikipedia tech articles that have sections on issues, so I thought I would mention it here...no source though. Just a ton of forums with posts which isn't reliable...but if anyone wants to dig deeper on this feel free!! Thanks and sorry if this doesn't belong at all,--Scottymoze (talk) 03:48, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
