How to visit a Indian Jewish (Bene-Israel) Synagogue in Panvel from Mumbai:

Beth El Synagogue (aka "Israel lokancha prathnasthan/mandir/masjid") 909 Mahatma Gandhi Rd (Mirchi Galli), Panvel Tel: 91 22-745-1014

-Best way to get to the synagogue is to take the Mumbai-Panvel ST bus from DADAR in Mumbai( the ST bus stands are located on Dr. Ambedkar road near khodadad circle/Dadar TT, right in front of the defunct Kohinoor Mills)

-Once you get to the ST terminal in Panvel (1-1.5 hour ride), try hailing a rickshaw to take you to the synagogue. Usually saying 'take me to "Israel lokancha prathnasthan/mandir/masjid"' works!

-You can request to light an oil lamp in the synagogue-donations are welcome! It is also traditional to make a wish for whatever you wish for. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chesdovi (talkcontribs) 14:37, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
