The Syntengs, also called Jaintias or Pnars are a tribal group in Meghalaya, India, closely related to the Khasi. The Syntengs are matrilineal. They worship a supreme being who has both a male ("U blei" = "god") and a female ("ka blei" = "goddess") aspect. The Synteng religion, unlike that of the Khasis has been greatly influenced by Hinduism.
