Synchestra is the second album by The Devin Townsend Band. The release date was January 30, 2006, but in some places copies were on store shelves as early as January 24 (see 2006 in music). The album was produced so that all the songs flow right into each other without a gap between tracks, creating the intended effect of it being one long musical production. "Vampira" is the one and only single off the album. A video clip was made and first entered circulation on Yahoo! Music Germany. [1]

A two disc special edition was released simultaneously with the standard edition. Disc one is the same in both versions. Disc two is an in-studio live DVD titled "Safe Zone" containing eight tracks played live in the studio and some bonus features put together by the band. The special edition is in digipak format, and comes with an extended booklet. Another special edition available in a jewel-case format with the DVD is sold exclusively from Hevy Devy Records.
