Synaptotropic hypothesis

The synaptotropic hypothesis is a neurobiological hypothesis of neuronal growth and synapse formation. The hypothesis is that that the formation of new synapses can guide the growth of dendrites. The dendrites that find a synapse that successfully activates it are encouraged to mature and stabilize.
