[edit] Second movement and Le pescatrici

Landon's Esterhazy Volume (II) mentions that "The Poco Adagio" is a kind of sophisticated siciliano, which Haydn had used so effectively in an aria from [his opera] Le pescatrici two years earlier." Does he mean that Haydn used a specific aria from that opera and make a movement out of it? That would be noteworthy. But, he could mean that the "siciliano" was something he had employed earlier which would be considerably less interesting in my opinion. DavidRF (talk) 17:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
