Symposia (journal)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Symposia: The Online Philosophy Journal is an online philosophy journal produced as part of the website ILovePhilosophy.com discussions forums. It has been running for over a year and is edited by two posters from the other half of the ILovePhilosophy.com website, the philosophy forums. It has published articles primarily from the wide range of writers who use the forums, but also from other writers and academics. Unlike many journals, it does not publish periodically, but rather reviews the submissions on a piece-by-piece basis and if they are accepted, publication is instantaneous. Any submission of any type is considered, including animation and video, but for the most part it is essays on philosophy, religion, social sciences and psychology, as well as short stories and poems.
The team running the journal take a broad view of philosophy, welcoming submissions on fringe topics or with unusual writing styles or arguments. The journal has over 1000 readers per month and is growing all the time.
