Symbiotic is the first album by The Impressionables. It was released on September 9, 2006 by the band's own label. It was partly a collection of songs written by the band in the years running up to it being recorded and partly written from scratch. Recording was a long and drawn out process, the band only expecting it to take until May at the very longest. Instead, release was pushed back countlessly until it was finally completed in August.

Recording took place in Woodlands Studios and all the engineering, mixing, mastering and production was done by Oliver Daffarn.

Daffarn also appears Anaesthitised doing the guitars in the breakdown, where the tempo changes. The pianos in Meander were performed by Sebastian's ex-girlfriend, Helen Maunders, who happened to be in the room at the time.

The artwork was a collation of work submitted by fans of the band.
