[edit] Cleanup

This article needs a complete overhaul for tone, layout and NPOV. I plan on doing a lot of work on it in the next few days. sɪzlæk [ +t, +c, +m, +e ] 02:17, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Sylmar is a place with many ranches and small farms.

Sylmar is no longer a place with many ranches and farms. This hasn't been true since the collapse of the local olive industry in the mid 1930's. In 1990, there were only 4 areas over an acre with the original olive trees. The last of the large patches of the olive groves were ripped out for a new housing development in the summer of 2006.
