Sylvia Mercado Kierkegaard is a leading international authority in computer law. Her articles are widely published [1] in top international journals and books. She covers a wide range of topics, such as comparative contract law, alternative dispute resolution, intellectual property rights, EU law, privacy, electronic commerce and data protection. Her work is frequently cited in court judgments, and scholarly works [2][3][4]. She has authored, edited and published books [5] and over 2000 articles and her articles frequently appear in CLSR [6]. She is also the President of the International Association of IT Lawyers (IAITL), an association of IT lawyers and legal scholars specializing in computer law, privacy and security. The association organises some of the most successful international legal conferences in the world bringing in scholars, policy officials and members of both the industry and academic community to craft new policies and disseminate scholarly researches[7][8][9]. She has the distinction of finishing with the highest grade ever in the history of Danish education.[10]
She is the editor in chief of Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology (DOAJ Access), editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Private Law (Inderscience), Managing editor of the International Journal of Intellectual Property Management [11] and frequently serves as editor of the International Journal of Liability and Scientific Enquiry [12], Intl. Journal of Intellectual Property Management [13], and International Journal of Technology Transfer and Commercialization. She is a member of the editorial board of over 20 international academic journals such as Computer Law and Security Report (Oxford-Elsevier)[14]. She has served as expert adviser [15], speaker [16] and member of various Study Groups and Committees for the EU and the Council of Europe [17], which draft policies and proposals for legislative and regulatory policies on international level [18][19] [20], as well as international associations [21] [22][23].
