Headquartered in the former NCNB building (known for its architectural resemblance to a set-screw or slotted beer can) on the shores of the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa, Florida, Sykes Enterprises (NASDAQ: SYKE) is a family of global companies delivering business process outsourcing (BPO) services; chiefly the construction and management of call centers in under-developed countries (such as India and the Philippines) to provide customer support services on behalf of third-party companies based in the industrialized West.
Many new employees of the company do not receive vacation allowance for the first year with the company, including those employed at the headquarters.
