Sybase Classic

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sybase Classic, in full The Sybase Classic presented by ShopRite, is an annual golf tournament for professional female golfers on the LPGA Tour. From 1990 through 2006, the event took place at the Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, New York. In 2007, the tournament moved to the Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, New Jersey.

The tournament was originally known as the JAL Big Apple Classic and was sponsored by Japan Airlines. Software company Sybase took over as the title sponsor in 2001. Since 2007, the presenting sponsor has been ShopRite, a New Jersey-based chain of supermarkets.[1] From 1992 through 2006, ShopRite sponsored the ShopRite LPGA Classic on the LPGA Tour.

Proceeds from the event benefit St. Joseph's Healthcare System, Inc. and the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton, Inc.
