Syandan Patrika is the leading A-1 newspaper of Tripura, India. It has a circulation of over 60,000 readers. It is currently owned and managed by Subal Kumar Dey, a prominent editor and respected personality in the state. Syandan Patrika is located 12 km (6.5 nautical miles) north of Agartala, Tripura. It started its journey in the year 1970 as a weekly newspaper and after that it became a daily newspaper. It has over 60 journalists in the state and 7 photo journalists. The Photo Editor and Manager of Syandan Patrika is Mr.Arindam Dey, son of Subal Kumar Dey. Subal Kumar Dey is revered by his fans for his journalistic crusades to uphold democracy, and as a tireless soldier who fought corruption in the highest circles.

Syandan Patrika purports to emulate the highest standards of journalism as set by Subal Kumar Dey, and expresses its pride through its motto: Journalism of Courage. The paper's editorial line is liberal, in both politics and economics, earning it the displeasure of those with vested political interests or in disagreement with its ideology.

Syandan Patrikahas often carried important investigative reports that had significant consequences. Its campaign also helped enaction of the Right to Information Act, passed in India in 2005. The newspaper is known for its intrepid and anti-establishment tone.
