[edit] Re: Brent Morel
Thanks for your very kind words on my talk page, Swumpg. I wanted to take the time to let you know that I fully understand your feelings, trust me, and my whole thinking when putting it up for AfD was to avoid the CSD, (speedy deletion) perhaps with enough keep votes, it would not be deleted. Also, we do have to follow the guidelines about biographies, and memorial sites do often get deleted quickly, so I wanted to see what others thought, without really putting my own personal feelings into it at first. However, I'm encouraged by the response, and I agree with your edits, and appreciate the fact that you recognize the subject may be a bit too close to your heart to be completely objective, so I appreciate that you refrained from adding some information that may alter the tone of the article away from neutrality. I think you made a really good decision, and I very much respect you for it. I also really appreciate your help getting the article worked over so that it wouldn't appear to be a memorial, and thus be taken more seriously. You did a really great job, kudos. I cannot even begin to imagine how it feels to fight a war that you know your own country is against. Vietnam was bad enough, but this war just must be very difficult, for servicemen and women, and for their families and friends left at home. My deepest sympathy to you for your frustrations.
And to you I leave a Native American proverb: The soul would have no rainbow, if the eye had no tears. Ariel♥Gold 03:49, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
