please don't put any biased agenda backed crap in the opening paragraph, put it here in the talk page and get a response from the wiki community before deciding to put anything possibly offensive in. 203.214.112.175 03:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

"Swinburne University of Technology was rated the best performer for overall educational experience, scoring five stars. At the other end of the scale, Deakin graduates had the lowest Victorian ranking - one star - in the "getting a job" category. La Trobe scored similarly poorly for graduate starting salary, while RMIT was rated at the lowest level for educational experience." - The Age http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/students-debt-on-the-increase/2006/08/15/1155407812900.html

should some of the information from the quoted research be included in the article?

[edit] Merger with Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus

Could DWZ, the one who suggested the merger provide his rationale for it here?– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 16:06, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, my bad, I was meaning to, but then got caught up with something else and forgot. Basically, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus is simply just one of nine campuses at Swinburne, but is the only one with its own article, and it's not the main campus for the University. The article Swinburne University of Technology currently isn't overcrowded, and I think it would be a better fit there. Larger universities in Australia that have much more information on their main page don't seem to have individual campus pages (eg. Melbourne University), although, admittedly, Monash University does - but again its main page is much longer. So, all in all, I think it's probably not worth having two separate articles until there is either a significant amount of information on the University in general on Swinburne University of Technology, or more information specifically on the Sarawak Campus. --DWZ (talkemailcontribs) 17:05, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Agree 203.214.77.87 00:19, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Disagree. The structure of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus is very different from Swinburne. It is a private university (vs. Swinburne's public status); operated in partnership with the Sarawak Foundation and Sarawak Higher Education Foundation [1]. While I am not too sure about the status of Chancellor, I believe that the different campuses of Swinburne Australia do not have one for each and every campus. However, the Sarawak Campus has its own chancellor and even its own logo - yellow and black instead of Swinburne Australia's red and black. To simply dismiss Swinburne Sarawak as just another campus of Swinburne Australia can be considered a mistake.
I will be expanding the Sarawak campus article in the near future, but not now as I have my hands full at the moment. Please reconsider this merger.– Matthew A. Lockhart (talk) 10:55, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Alright, I think I'll remove the merge tag now to give Matthew A. Lockhart a chance to play with the article. --DWZ (talkemailcontribs) 11:27, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
