Supermodel is a reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model and is aired on 3+. The show pits contestants against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win title of the new swiss Supermodel as well as a modelling contract with an agency in hopes of a promising career start in the modeling industry.

Ex-Topmodel Nadja Schildknecht hosted the first season which was aired from November to December 2007. A new season has been announced, but no longer with the participation of Schildknecht.[1]

[edit] Show format

After an episode featuring the casting process with 100 chosen girls the experiences of the finalists with a weekly photoshoot and several tasks and castings are shown in one episode that ends with a double elimination (except for episode 2 where three were eliminated.

Makeovers are administered to contestants early in the season (usually after the first or second elimination in the finals).

[edit] Differences between ANTM and Supermodel

In its looks, tasks, editing and elimination process Supermodel is much more similar to Germany's Next Topmodel rather than ANTM with having a runway walk in front of the judges, each contestant facing her verdict individually without any paricular order and letting its contestants travel to more than one international destination in one cycle.
